Hugh
resides in Port Elgin, Ontario with his wife Kathy,
and daughter Shelby where they own and operate
Bluewater Horseman’s Centre. Bluewater was
established in 2002 as a facility offering training,
lessons and sales for all disciplines with a focus
on the Appaloosa breed. Hugh’s specialty is
youth and non-pro as he has a special way of making
a student feel at ease while learning. Hugh
has judged numerous fairs and local equine
events, been a guest speaker at equine symposiums,
and hosted clinics both at the farm and throughout
Southern Ontario
. He has actively supported 4H in the area by
providing clinics and judging at local club events.
Hugh and Kathy have also served on the board of
directors for the
Ontario
Appaloosa Horse Association.
Hugh
has been breeding, training and showing for many
years now. He boasts an impressive show record
that includes some very prestigious wins at the US
World Show, Canadian Appaloosa Nationals, U.S. and
Canadian futurities, Ontario Provincial
Championships and countless Year End High Point
Award winners both regionally and nationally, U.S.
and Canadian. He has coached many youth and
non-pro students to National and Regional
championships and top ten placings. Hugh is pictured

Ontario
Appaloosa Youth Team whom he coached to a very
successful Canadian National Appaloosa Show in
Regina
, SK, in August, 2006. The girls had an
extremely successful show and all came back with
National Titles to add to their list of
accomplishments.

$30.00/hr and group lessons can be arranged.
